Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)

Emergency Medical Technicians provide emergency first aid and life support care before a patient can be moved to a hospital setting.  EMTs typically work for ambulance services, fire departments, or protective services companies.  To become an EMT,  you must complete a training program and pass a certification exam.  The Vermont Department of Health and the National Registry of Emergency Medical Services (NREMS) administer certification exams for EMTs.
