Phlebotomy
Phlebotomists work primarily in hospitals, medical offices, and laboratories and most commonly draw blood samples from patients for testing and diagnosing medical conditions. While third-party certification is not a requirement in Vermont for drawing blood, this certification shows employers that a person has a higher level of education and training and can help improve employment opportunities and advancement. Certification is currently available through either the National Healthcare Association or the American Medical Certification Association.
