Aviation Maintenance Training in Vermont
Burlington Technical Center offers aviation maintenance training in Vermont for adults interested in beginning a career as an FAA-certificated Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) mechanic. BTC’s Evening FAA General course makes it possible to begin this training while attending classes in the evening.
The first class in the series, FAA General, begins October 12 and runs through July 30. Students complete approximately 556 hours of classroom and hands-on aviation maintenance training at BTC’s Aviation Center at Burlington International Airport. The evening program covers the same FAA General curriculum as BTC’s daytime aviation maintenance program.
General is the first step in BTC’s A&P training pathway:
General → Airframe → Powerplant
Students learn foundational aviation maintenance knowledge and skills that prepare them to continue into Airframe and Powerplant training.
Continue Toward Your A&P Mechanic Certification
After completing General, students may continue into BTC’s evening Airframe and Powerplant courses as they are offered. Completing the required General, Airframe, and Powerplant training prepares students to pursue FAA Airframe and Powerplant mechanic ratings.
Students may also have an opportunity to transfer into BTC’s daytime A&P program when space is available. Daytime placement is not guaranteed.

Tuition and Financial Assistance
Tuition for the Evening FAA General course is $5,000. A deposit is required when registering to reserve your seat and is applied toward the total tuition cost.
