MEDL-13: Phlebotomy Certificate Program
This course is designed to provide the student with theoretical and technical introductory skills of a phlebotomist. Discussions include anatomy and physiology of the circulatory system, medical terminology, structures of the health care system and clinical laboratory, safety, types of laboratory analyses, specimen collection including techniques, equipment, sources of error, and medical legal issues surrounding the practice of phlebotomy. (Forty (40) Classroom Hours and Ten (10) Observation Hours at a participating hospital.) Attendance is required in both settings. (The cost of tuition includes all books and the end-of-program certification test fee from the National Healthcareer Association.)
