NCSU Community Engagements: 21st Century Skills Training
Engaging the public in our schools comes in many forms, from newsletters and online surveys to advisory committees and town-wide forums. This lively, practical training will help you navigate the options to use the right tools at the right time, in order to strengthen communities’ trust in public schools and community organizations; improve multi-way communication among families, school, and community; and increase diverse community participation and authentic input to school planning and decision making. Participants will discover the latest research and new techniques to build inclusive, constructive engagement and strengthen communication; hone facilitation skills with an expert trainer; map out community engagement priorities and learn which tools are best suited; and exchange ideas and build connections with others in the NCSU network. Food will be provided. Stipends for travel and childcare available upon request.
