This is a six-week introduction to various welding processes commonly used today. This course provides structured demonstrations of the equipment and fundamentals of each process, along with a description and discussion of the process limitations and typical applications. Students will gain an understanding and appreciation of these processes through hands-on application of the techniques used in the following: thermal cutting (OFC and plasma); shielded metal arc welding (6011 and 7018); gas metal arc welding (ER70S), and gas tungsten arc welding (steel/stainless/aluminum). The structure and duration of this experience provide a basic introduction; therefore, it is not designed to build proficiency in any area.

Please note: Students must wear leather shoes or boots and a long-sleeved shirt. Safety glasses, helmet, gloves, and welding jacket are included in the cost of this program and will be yours to keep after the course or program.
